Barrow Hill to hold MASSIVE four day 'Rail Power 2008' Event

Friday the 22nd until Monday the 25th of August will see the famous Barrow Hill Roundhouse Railway centre host to a huge range of steam, diesel, electric and gas turbine locomotives, representing each significant era and milestone in the history of the railways.

It is hoped 40 013 will be fully repainted in BR Green and engine running.

A number of Mainline diesel locomotives have also been invited.


Electric

West coast electric locomotives will be represented in the form of classes 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 89.

A special guest has been invited to open the event.

Sheffield Railwayana Auctions will be holding collectors/enthusiasts no obligation valuation and assessments

Betton Grange cab on display

Baby Deltic engine started for the first time

Mainline shuttles between Barrow Hill and Butterley are also a possibility.


This event is going to be one of the biggest and best of its type ever held in the UK in the heritage era.
