Not just for the big kids...

There is always something for families to do at the Roundhouse... keep your little ones entertained with a visit to this historic location, you can view all the locomotivess on display and take part in the ’24 objects Roundhouse Trail', where children will be given a sheet to find 24 different objects in the Roundhouse.

Our interactive exhibitions are a great tactile activity for children as well as the dressing up area where children can try on various railway outfits - who will you be today?.

We also offer a range of colouring pages each weekend in the learning room. There is also an activity book families can buy in the shop. See our events page for any additional family activities and events that we hold throughout the year.

Our opening hours are Saturdays and Sundays 10.00am-4.00pm. Closed Monday to Friday, including Bank Holidays.

There is a diversion in place due to a road closure at Junction 29a of the M1; this will add approximately 10 minutes to your journey time if you use this route to reach the Roundhouse. This diversion will be in place until 31st March 2015.
